VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL ….THANK YOU!!

Thank you so much to everyone who volunteered in any way for Vacation Bible School this week….we couldn’t have done it without your help! Thank you, also, to all the parents who sent their children; we had between 70 and 80 kids in attendance each day, and the kids had a great time! Finally, thank you to all who donated snacks or other items. Everything came together so well, and I think the adults had nearly as much fun as the kids did!

EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH

“People are circulating petitions to have Michigan’s Constitution changed. The proposed change would allow the killing of human embryos in Michigan for stem cell research, men and women hold your pens! Cures are being falsely promised by these paid circulators: cures for cancer, cures for people with spinal cord injuries and cures to diabetes. Much is being pledged if Michigan’s Constitution is changed. Unfortunately, what’s being peddled to get people to sign the petition are lies. Be sure to get the facts before you sign.”  Every Catholic household in Michigan received a CD on stem cells, “Finding Cures & Protecting Life.” Please take it out and view it again.

Right to Life – Michigan stands firmly behind the plan of God that the embryo is a life and life cannot be interfered with. If asked to sign this petition, ask questions, know not only the positive (if any) but the negative of such a project. Please pray and follow your conscience……Anne Williams, Respect Life Liason

Dear friends,

At last we are having some warm days of summer. I hope all of your flowers and vegetables are coming along real good. Mine are.

We had the most wonderful days of Vacation Bible School, last week with more than 80 children attending every day. Credit for all this successful event goes to Fr. George, who steered the program, Christy Miron, our Catechists and a bunch of dedicated volunteers including the young people from our Youth Group and their friends. Without you we could not have this success. Thank you to all you parents who sent your children to the VBS and helped out. Children not only prayed together, they learned a lot and had lots of fun.

Much warmer days are ahead. I would like to once again remind everyone about getting nicely dressed for Mass in order to give reverence to God and His Church. Also, please be aware of what your children are wearing. If you are doing any ministry, please use tasteful apparel in order to have an elegant appearance.

I request your prayers for all those young couples getting married this year. We already had six weddings and we have eight to go. Please keep them all in your prayers.

Days are brighter, weather is good. Have lots of fun. Remember to set up one hour at least each week to worship God in the Eucharistic Community.

Have a safe summer.

Fr Augustin

BETHLEHEM WOODCARVING ASSOCIATION WILL BE AT OUR PARISH JULY 5TH AND 6TH AFTER THE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY MASSES TO ASK FOR YOUR HELP AND BLESSINGS FOR THE NATIVE PEOPLE OF THE HOLY LAND IN BETHLEHEM. THESE 600 CATHOLIC AND CHRISTIAN FAMILIES HAVE RELIED ON SELLING THE HAND-CARVED RELIGIOUS OLIVE WOOD ARTIFACTS TO CARE FOR THEIR FAMILIES. DUE TO THE RECENT EVENTS IN THE MIDDLE EAST, THE TOURISM HAS NOT BEEN AS PROMISING AS IT ONCE WAS, SO THEY HAVE COME HERE TO THE UNITED STATES TO HELP SUPPORT THE HOLY LAND. ALL OF THE PROCEEDS RECEIVED FROM SELLING THE OLIVE WOOD ARTIFACTS WILL BE SENT BACK TO THE HOLY LAND SO THAT THE FAMILIES THERE MAY BE ABLE TO KEEP THEIR HOMES AND SUPPORT THEIR FAMILIES. THEY WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP AND BLESSINGS. MAY GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES…..Bethlehem Woodcarving Association
