THE
SACRED HEART AUXILIARY will meet
on Monday, May 12th at 10:00 a.m. in the church hall. Reports on the
Soup and Sandwich Luncheon from April 23rd will be discussed.
From preliminary figures the Luncheon was a huge
success. Thank you to all who helped, donated money
and/or came to eat!
We will concentrate on the Memorial Day Half
Chicken Take-out Lunch being planned. Anyone who would like to help with this
project is welcome to come to the meeting – or watch for information in the
bulletin.

Dear
Friends,
I
wish you all the greetings of the great feast of Pentecost.
What
a great joy for our Catholic community to have 24 of our children receiving
Confirmation and 21 of them receiving the Eucharist for the first time in their
life! The presence of our Bishop adds more joy to this occasion.
This
is a time for us to reflect on the 'Graces' we have received through the
outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our lives and to be thankful for the same. We
are called to live a responsible Christian life according to the blessings each
one of us has received. It reminds of us our responsibility to be practicing
our faith on a regular basis.
When
I remember of the Confirmations we had at our Churches and the number of
children who got Confirmed, I wish to see all our parents take responsibility
to encourage children to continue with their spiritual life. I don't know at
what point we started to think that once a person is confirmed that person has
nothing more to do in his or her spiritual life.
I
encourage and invite all the parents and sponsors of Confirmation to take
responsibility and help children practice their faith on a regular basis and
grow in their spiritual life. Or else all the 'Graces' they have received will
stay stagnant and will not grow as they should.
