Sacred Heart Auxiliary
If you know of anyone who is in the hospital, SNU, Bayside or
other institutions PLEASE, PLEASE let us know. I have had the
misfortune of finding a number of Catholics who we did not know about. Some
were surprised that I had not been in to see them before then. They looked
surprised and hurt that family members did not let us know here at the church
office. If you know someone who would like a visit, PLEASE let us know. Thank
you…..Fr. George

Three Electrolux reconditioned vacuum cleaners have been purchased for the church and basement areas. Donna Soli is looking into the price of a permanent Lady of Fatima statue for our parish. A fifth roaster will be purchased. The possibility of a new coffee maker and chairs for the altar servers are on the list of things being looked at for prices.
Thank you to all who are active Auxiliary members, also to those who support all our fundraisers.
Our next meeting will be on June 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the newly remodeled Bishop Baraga Hall.
GIFT TO MARY
There were quite a few parishioners who
participated in our parish’s “gift to Mary,” a living rosary and May crowning
last weekend prior to the Sunday morning Mass. Pairshioners
lined up around the perimeter of the church to pray the rosary in honor of Our
Blessed Mother. Flowers were brought to Mary, who was then crowned by 8th
grader Katelyn Sterbenz.
Assisting with the May crowning were crown bearer, Connor Jackson, and crown
presenter, Chelsea Pittsley. Thank you to all who
participated in this very special event honoring Our Blessed Mother.
Dear Friends in Christ,
Since Fr. Agustin will have the bulletin column on Memorial Day I thought I would share these words with you a week early.
Being a veteran I would like to share a few words about our veterans. You might even take some time out of your busy schedule and thank the veterans you know for providing you the freedoms you have.
It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.
It is the VETERAN who salutes the flag of the
It is the VETERAN who serves under the flag of this great nation.
ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO THEM OF
LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM. We can and should be very
proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve.
God Bless our service men
and women and God Bless
Fr. George
Message from Medjugorje….”Dear children! Also today, I call all of you to grow in God’s love as a flower which feels the warm rays of spring. In this way, also you, little children, grow in God’s love and carry it to all those who are far from God. Seek God’s will and do good to those whom God has put on your way, and be light and joy. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
