AUXILIARY NEWS:
The Memorial Day Chicken Take-out Lunch was a success. Thank you to
all who participated!
A huge amount of credit goes to Doreen Zagar
who chaired this project. Doreen is known for her culinary gifts and she proves
it with the pork pies and now the chicken lunch. Thank you Doreen!
Thank you, also, to all those who worked so hard to make this
project a success. The Auxiliary has a wonderful group of active members who
are always ready to pitch in and “do it right.” Also, thank you to all the
parish members who give so willingly of their time with baking and helping when
needed. Without all of you, the Auxiliary would not exist.
Our next meeting is Monday, June 9th at 10 a.m. at Doreen
Zagar’s home with lunch to follow. There are
decisions to be made as to our next big project in our church. Please join us!
Thank you!

INVITATION
TO ORDINATION MASS
It
is with great joy that Bishop Alexander Sample will ordain Brian Gerber and
Michael Jacobus to the priesthood on Friday, June 6th
at 3:30 p.m. ET, at St. Peter Cathedral, Marquette. All the faithful are
invited to attend this special ordination
Dear Friends in Christ,
When I received this, I thought I don’t have time for it. Then, I realized that this is the kind of
thinking that has caused a lot of problems in our world. We keep God in church on Sunday morning and,
the unlikely event of a weekday service. We do like to have HIM around during
sickness and, of course, at funerals. We
prefer to have HIM on our DEMAND then we on HIS DEMAND. However, we don’t have time, or room, for HIM
during work or play because that’s the part of our lives we think we can, and
should, handle on our own. May God
forgive me for ever thinking that there is a time and a place where HE is not
to be FIRST in my life. We should always have time to remember all HE
has done for us.
Yes, I do Love God. HE is my
source of existence and my Savior. HE
keeps me functioning each and every day.
Without HIM, I am nothing. But,
with Christ, HE strengthens me.
Why is it so hard to tell the truth yet so easy to tell a lie?
Why are we so sleepy in church but right when
the sermon is over we suddenly wake up?
Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e-mail, but yet we forward all of
the nasty ones?
Isn’t it funny how simple it is to trash God and then wonder why the
world’s going to hell.
Isn’t it funny that we are too busy for God, but still demand He answer
our prayers when we NEED Him?
Isn’t it funny how someone can say “I believe in God” but can still
follow Satan (who, by the way, does believe in God).
Isn’t it funny how we can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and they
spread like wildfire, but when we start sending messages regarding the Lord,
people think twice about passing them on.
Isn’t it funny how we can be more worried about what others think about
us than what God thinks about us.
Think about it and then pass it on.
God Bless you this week,
Fr. George

ST. MICHAEL THE
“Draw your strength from the Lord and from his
mighty power” (Ephesians 6:10) “ … Michael and his angels
battled against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back, but they did
not prevail and there was no longer a place for them in heaven.” (Rev 12:7)
Pope Leo XIII had a clear recollection of St.
Michael when he introduced a special prayer throughout the Church. We were
asked to pray this prayer by Pope John Paul II in 1994 against the forces of
evil. Abortion is certainly one of those forces. The following is a shortened
version of the prayer:
Saint Michael the
Saint Michael the
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O
Prince of the Heavenly Host – by the Power of God thrust into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

PARISH PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
Gracious and loving God, help the men and
women of our parish hear your call to serve the Church in the Diocese of
Marquette.
Our needs are great and our people thirst
for your presence. Open the hearts of many, raise up
faithful servants of the Gospel, dedicated priests, sisters, brothers, and
deacons, who will spend themselves for your people and their needs.
Bless those who are serving now with
courage and perseverance. Grant that many will be inspired by their example of
faith.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
