Highlights of the process as of September 25, 2011:
- Please sign up in the Sacristy before each Mass when you will be serving.
- Wash your hands or use sanitizer before Mass.
- Come to the Altar at the end of the Sign of Peace. When all Ministers are
present, bow and proceed to the appropriate place during the 'Lamb of God'.
- Assignments are now relative to the Priest's right and left. Cup 1
Minister and Ciborium Minister will stand to the Priest's right, with the Cup1
Minister closest to the congregation. Cup 2 Minister and Choir Minister
will stand to the Priest's left, with the Cup2 Minister closest to the
congregation.
- When Communion is finished, the vessels containing the Host, the ciborium and
pyx, are placed on the corporal. Both communion cups are placed to the
right of the corporal (Priest's right). If Precious Blood remains in the
cup, cover with the purificator; if not, place the purificator alongside the cup.
- When all Ministers have returned to the altar and have placed their assigned
vessel in its proper place, all should go to the bottom of the steps, turn to
face the altar and bow. Then return to your seat.
- It is the responsibility of the Cup Ministers to remove all vessels from the
credence table, wash the vessels and return them to the cabinet, which is then
locked and the key secured.
- It's important to call a sub if you are unable to serve when scheduled.
