We strive to provide the best possible Faith Formation Programs for our Parish Family. Of course we can't do this alone and we rely on our parents and volunteers as invaluable resources to continue the journey of faith.

Our programs:

  • Faith Formation (K-12)

Classes are held on Wednesday evenings (Sep through May) from 6:30 – 7:30 PM in L'Anse.  K-8 meet in Sacred Heart School and High School students meet in the Green Room, Sacred Heart Church.  Periodic Faith Formation family events which include both parents and students are also scheduled on Wednesday evenings.

Sacramental Preparations: 2nd Grade students will prepare to receive the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. 3rd Grade students will prepare to receive the Sacrament of First Communion. Weekly Mass attendance is required for all Catholics. It is especially important for all children preparing for the Sacraments to attend weekly Mass with their family. Please also practice prayers at home and continue to use the materials we provided for "at home" religious education.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a Safe Environment Program, all parents must come into the Sacred Heart School to pick up their children at their classrooms.

  • Adult Faith Formation

Programs are being discussed at this time.  Adult Bible Study programs will be offered.  We will continue to expand all Adult programs based on participation and input from our Catholic family.  Parish Missions and events hosted by the Diocese of Marquette are scheduled throughout the year.

Parents of our Faith Formation students are especially encouraged to participate.

  • RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

Contact the Faith Formation Coordinator for details:  524-6425.

Members of the parish community are always invited to attend. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Catholic Faith and to update one's understanding of Catholic beliefs.

  • Youth Rally events are periodically scheduled for our Junior High and High School students.  Details provided in weekly bulletins.
  • Vacation Bible School is offered in June based on participation from the Catholic community.  See bulletins for more information.

GENERAL INFORMATION<

We can always use more Faith Formation Teachers. Please don't hesitate to contact our office to volunteer.

A formalized program for The Sacrament of Confirmation is still in process.  Contact the Faith Formation Office if you require this Sacrament.

Students who attend our Parish Faith Formation programs should strive to be known for their Christian courtesy. Respect for teachers, administrative staff, support staff, volunteers, visitors, and fellow students is essential for the learning environment.
